Maraland, Maraland,
Our Promised Land!
Here’s where our ancestors’ long journey ends,
In the land where the rainbow ends;
Here’s where our missionaries’ long journey ends,
In the land where “the earth ends”.
Maraland, Maraland,
Our Promised Land!
Here’s where we have our root, identity and home,
In the Land where Mara flowers bloom;
Here’s where our founders satiated and slept in peace,
In the land where harvests never cease.
Maraland, Maraland,
Our Promised Land!
Here’s where we hear Christian church bells ring,
From the hills where Mara angels sing;
Here’s where we see the Cross of Jesus lifted high,
On the mountains where heaven’s nigh.
Maraland, Maraland,
Our Promised Land!
Here’s where we see strong men and women cry,
For the lands far and near – “dark” and “dry”;
Here’s where we find the poor and needy pray and give,
For regions beyond that they too may live.
Maraland, Maraland,
Our Promised Land!
May you shine forever like the morning star!
For your people and lands near and far!
May we prosper and live forever in this land!
By the protection of God’s mighty hand!
